Urszula Wicenciak

b_250_200_16777215_00___images_biogramy_ula_wicenciak.jpgI am an archaeologist at the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology University of Warsaw, specialized in Near Eastern ceramics from the Hellenistic through Byzantine periods. I am involved in the PCMA Porphyreon excavation project in Jiyeh in Lebanon ever since its beginning in 2003 (and earlier Chhîm) lies at the base of my current interests.

I have  participated in several other PCMA UW excavation projects in Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan and Kuwait, as well as in a project of the Institute of Archaeology University of Warsaw in Sicily. I am currently studying the pottery from Polish excavations at Porphyreon/Jiyeh and Chhîm in Lebanon. Since 2012 I study kitchen and cooking pots from excavations in Akrai.
